The Mastery of Time exhibition, being held as part of the 2016 Dubai Watch Week, is a fascinating retrospective display of significant timepieces through different eras from a historical or scientific point of view.
Taking place in the Grand Atrium in The Dubai Mall, over 100 museum pieces are on display in the region’s largest watch exhibition to date.
The Mastery of Time is designed to educate visitors on the story behind significant historical timepieces and their role within the timeline of each brand.
Significant pieces on display, from the Musée international d'horlogerie in la Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, include an early 18th century portable sundial from Pierre LeMaire of Paris, a rocaille table clock from Germany, made in the second half of the 18th century, an octagonal pendant watch with one hand, from Blois (France), made in the first half of the 17th century, a convertible bracelet watch made by Waltham (US), post-1915, a rubidium atomic clock from Temex Neuchâtel Time of Switzerland made in 1995, and a 1970 Beta 21 quartz wristwatch.
The exhibition runs until November 19.
