The world’s most valuable guitar was unveiled yesterday (November 24) in Bahrain at the Jewellery Arabia 2015 exhibition.
The Middle East debut of the Coronet Gibson guitar is part of a global tour.
The guitar has an estimated value of $2 million.
The fully functional musical instrument is adorned with 11,441 diamonds (401.15 carats) set in 1.6 kg of 18k white gold. It took a team of 68 artisans up to 700 man-days to complete the showpiece.
Brought together by legendary guitar maker Gibson Brands, Hong Kong-based founder of the Coronet brand Aaron Shum Jewelry, and musician / artist Mark Lui, the diamond encrusted masterpiece named “Eden of CORONET” is the most valuable guitar ever as certified by Guinness World Records in March 2015.
The guitar’s unveiling at Jewellery Arabia 2015 follows appearances in Hong Kong, Switzerland and the US.
Jewellery Arabia, now in its 24th successful year, is the largest and most prestigious jewellery exhibition in the Middle East, showcasing world famous brands and unique designers from across the globe.
The show runs till November 28 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre.
