Art Deco penthouse on the market

A luxurious Art Deco-styled 10,000-sq-ft penthouse at an historic 19th century residential building in Knightsbridge, London, UK, is on the market.

Recently launched on to the private market for £35 million ($54 million) through Wetherell, the luxurious apartment is said to have the largest private Hyde Park rooftop terrace of any penthouse in Knightsbridge.

The Penthouse at Wellington Court, with bespoke Great Gatsby inspired Art Deco interior finishings, provides six bedrooms, including a grand master bedroom complete with his and hers dressing and bathing rooms Jacuzzi room, cinema room, gymnasium, treatment room and music room.  

Formerly The Second Duke of Wellington’s Riding School, Wellington Court was first developed in the 19th century and was the original high-profile park-side development.

Now Paul Davies London has remodelled the entire top floor creating the largest and most luxurious penthouse currently on the market in Knightsbridge.  

Neighbouring One Hyde Park, the penthouse benefits from six individual terraces, providing exceptional views onto Hyde Park, Mayfair and Knightsbridge. Accessed through full height glass bi-folding doors, the main lounge terrace spans 1,000 sq ft providing full views onto the parkland, the Serpentine, as well as a West to East cityscape. The interiors for the penthouse are a throwback to the roaring 1920s Art Deco Great Gatsby style finishes, combined with modern furnishings to deliver a classic yet contemporary ambience. Features include mirror lined ceilings to enhance and reflect the sense of space, black walnut handcrafted oak parquet flooring across principle rooms, with luxury carpet lining each bedroom suite and bespoke Italian marble bathrooms.

Upon entering the penthouse from a security controlled lift, full-height bespoke brown lacquer doors open into the music room, a comfortable yet luxurious living space, with a baby grand piano, Swarovski crystal lined bar and sofa seating area, suitable for welcoming guests or hosting exclusive receptions. The music room leads on to a study, which includes a faux-crocodile leather seating area and Shagreen lined work desk.

Towards the rear of the penthouse a further set of the Great Gatsby style brown lacquer double doors, which feature throughout the apartment, lead on to the double height formal dining area, with the capacity to seat 10 guests.
