Penthouses by The Thames


Two rare pieces of real estate in London, offering sweeping views of the city’s most famous landmarks and exceptional interiors, are being offered to discerning investors

Some exclusive penthouses in two landmark developments in London are being offered by the market- leading residential developer Barratt London for investors in the Gulf.

The penthouses, in Barratt London’s flagship development Landmark Place and Blackfriars Circus, are designed by renowned interior specialists. 

Landmark Place has recently unveiled a brand new exemplar penthouse show apartment, designed by Goddard Littlefair.

BLACKFRIARS CIRCUS

Meanwhile, Barratt London’s Blackfriars Circus development has already become a local landmark, thanks to its innovative design and distinctive brick tower.

Prominently situated on the south west corner of St George’s Circus, where six roads converge, linking them to Westminster, Blackfriars and Waterloo bridges, this mixed-use development of 336 apartments offers flexible workspaces for up to 24 small businesses, two new public spaces, and units for shops, cafes and restaurants.

Just one penthouse apartment remains in Conquest Tower at Blackfriars Circus, including a show apartment designed and dressed by Blocc Interiors.

Rick Jones, director, Blocc Interiors, comments: “When you enter the apartment, your eyes instantly lock on the views ahead. The floor to ceiling windows beautifully frame the world outside, which the interior design needed to enhance – not compete with. We did this by incorporating tactile fabrics and wallcoverings and using a palate of brushed gold, bronze, dark and natural woods.

“Not wanting to obstruct the view, we used bespoke furniture made at a reduced height, but these do not detract from the opulence and comfort.

“The space is naturally zoned, a dividing door that slides into the wall allows for open plan living if required or, when closed, provides intimate space. The facades to St. Georges Circus reflected a formal readying of the neighbouring Clarence Centre, particularly the curved face towards the circus and its Georgian architecture with the strong banding and framed windows.

“The utilitarian design that runs through the scheme is tenure blind, it unifies the development with its surroundings.

“An integral part of the development was to create a public square where the community could congregate, but we didn’t want this to interrupt the streetscape, so we put this at the heart of the scheme.”

Over 50 different types of brick in 11 colours were used to create a streetscape that reflects the historical context of the site, giving each building a distinct character while ensuring they mature gracefully, becoming richer and looking even better over time. 

Each apartment has a balcony, terrace or winter garden, and all residents have access to a roof-top garden with outstanding views across London. Underground parking is available at an additional cost and there are 700 cycle spaces.
