Hilton resort on way for Yas Island

A new Hilton luxury resort is to be part of a multi-billion-dollar development undertaken by Miral on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Scheduled to open in 2019, the Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island Resort will be located in the Dh12-billion ($3.3 billion) Yas Bay, near the 18,000-capacity Yas Arena within the development.

The resort’s facilities will include a multi-purpose conference centre, seven dining outlets and an innovative urban beach concept with an infinity pool suspended above the waters of the Arabian Gulf.

BR Kiran, the chief portfolio officer of Miral, said: “We are proud to announce our partnership with Hilton which represents another milestone in our journey to establish Yas Island as a top global destination. The creation of a world-class family resort at the heart of Yas Bay, our iconic waterfront development, will provide visitors with a five-star opportunity to extend their leisure and business stays and enjoy the unique attractions and memorable experiences that only Yas Island can offer.”

Located in the south of Yas Island, Yas Bay will be delivered in two phases.

Phase One includes Yas Arena, a multipurpose venue with a capacity of 18,000; a 650-key hotel; as well as cafes and restaurants, retail outlets and a cinema, all expected to open their doors to the public in 2019.

Phase Two will include a 250-key high-end hotel.
