76’ Bahamas wins award for exterior design

Ferretti’s new Riva convertible emerged a winner at the World Yachts Trophies held on the sidelines of the Cannes Yachting Festival in France, winning the award for Best Exterior Design in the 50 to 80 foot category.

The 76’ Bahamas, built at the group’s shipyard at La Spezia, made its world debut at the Cannes festival, which was held from September 6 to 11.

The new convertible was created on the same hull platform as the 76’ Perseo coupe and is fitted with the renowned “convertible top” system first featured on the 88’ Florida.

The 76’ Bahamas joins two best-sellers launched in September last year and both winners at the 2015 World of Yachts Trophies, further confirming Riva’s stature as a leader in innovation.

The 76’ Bahamas is a collaboration between Officina Italiana Design, Ferretti’s product strategy committee and engineering department.

It combines the two souls of the open and coupe versions into a single model, offering a yacht of “irresistible beauty” featuring cutting-edge technology solutions, according to Ferretti.

The World Yacht Trophies organised by the magazine Yachts France is the first contest in the nautical year and the ideal occasion to celebrate all the new models and innovations exhibited by yacht builders on the French Riviera.

The awards ceremony was held on the Plage of the InterContinental Carlton Hotel as part of the famous Croisette, where Riva chose to show its second new model at the world premiere on the French Riviera: the speedboat Rivamare.
