Private yacht to make charter debut

Lürssen will show off a refitted 22-year-old yacht that was only used privately but is now up for charter, at the forthcoming Monaco Yacht Show in September.

Formerly known as Coral Island, Coral Ocean was designed by the late Jon Bannenberg and launched in 1994. With her clean exterior line and amazing Polynesian interior, the yacht was hailed as one of the interior designer’s first masterpieces.

Beautifully maintained throughout her life, used only privately and never featured in a magazine, the 73-m yacht was refitted at Lürssen’s yard in Germany over the winter, where certain areas were changed and updated for the charter market.

Guests who will have the pleasure to cruise on her in the Mediterranean this summer will be amazed by her beach house style interior, the builder says.

“In 1994, Coral Ocean was one of the first yachts whose interior featured a gym and a spa area, what was a sensation at that time, is considered as standard today, Lürssen points out, adding that the Coral Ocean is proof that a quality yacht is worth its value even after more than two decades of its existence.

Refit has become a core business for Lürssen. During the last winter 8 yachts between 40 and 110 m have used Lürssen’s facilities for modifications and maintenance works. Amongst them are some of the world's most beautiful yachts such as Phoenix², Global, Radiant and Coral Ocean.

At this year's Monaco Yacht Show Lürssen will have, in addition to its regular stand outside on the T-Dock, a dedicated Yacht Service stand located in the air-conditioned tent Antoine 1er A, where staff will be on hand to talk about the yard’s repair and refit services.

The 2016 Monaco Yacht Show will open its doors from September 28 to October 1, welcoming an expected 34,000 visitors from all over the world over the course of its four-day run at Port Hercules.
