Los Angeles icon redefines luxury

Since 1946, InterContinental Hotels has extended a trailblazing portfolio of luxury five-star hotels and resorts across the world. Each property offers its own distinctive style, from heritage elegance to urban chic and resorts on tropical shores.

As its only Southern California property, the InterContinental Los Angeles stands among the best of hotel offerings by the world-renowned hospitality group. Its proximity to Beverly Hills’ world-class shopping on famed Rodeo Drive, major entertainment studios and Southern California’s year-round, sun-soaked beaches makes it the perfect place to call home when visiting the US city.

“Dedicated to providing guests with the exceptional service they’ve come to expect from the global luxury brand, the timeless hotel evokes a unique sense of understated elegance and modern glamour,” says a hotel spokesman. “From the moment you pull into the lavish entrance, located on Avenue of the Stars, InterContinental Los Angeles invites you to experience all the luxury and comforts you’d expect.”

He continues: “The InterContinental Los Angeles caters to the Middle Eastern traveller with an array of customised offerings. To better welcome Middle Eastern guests and offer the most comfortable experience possible, the hotel has a variety of amenities, all available upon request, including the Holy Qur’an and praying rug in room, halal meat (24-hour advance notice required), complimentary access to several GCC newspapers via PressReader and bidets available in all rooms. The hotel also offers private check-in for VIP guests and Arabic-speaking staff.

The hotel’s ongoing multi-million-dollar renovation reveals some of the most luxurious accommodations in the city, with each room offering impressive views of Hollywood, Downtown Los Angeles or the Pacific Ocean.

Designers drew inspiration from the glamour and sophistication of Beverly Hills, while embracing the unique and chic style of Los Angeles. The property features 363 elegant rooms, 176 of which are suites, including the completely redesigned 310-sq-m Royal Suite and the latest addition, a 260-sq-m four-guestroom connecting suite, catering especially to large parties of elite travellers and Royal families.

ROYAL ATTRACTION

Paying homage to signature Hollywood luxury, the hotel’s all-new Royal Suite features two bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms, a kitchenette with full-size refrigerator, Lavazza espresso machine, wine cooler and fully stocked wet bar, as well as an intimate library with a 55-inch flat screen TV and LED (light-emitting-diodes) fireplace.

The spacious living area boasts a 60-inch flat screen TV and an open floor plan, leading into an elegant dining room with an eight-foot LED fireplace, creating the ideal backdrop to take in Los Angeles’ dramatic sunsets.

The master bathroom features two rainfall showers and a soaking tub big enough for two with large sliding windows showcasing the unparalleled views of the beautiful Hollywood Hills nearby and iconic Hollywood Sign.

The second bedroom includes an attached office space that can also double as another bedroom. Furnished balconies wrap around the entire suite, offering unbeatable sun-up to sun-down city and coastline views. The suite, along with all other accommodations in the hotel, features InterContinental’s exclusive Lemon Verbena Agraria amenities.

The Royal Suite’s overall design has earned it a place in Elite Traveler’s 101 Best Suites in the world, the spokesman points out.

THE SUITE LIFE

With 176 plush suites filling the floors of InterContinental Los Angeles, elite guests experience the marriage of sophistication, ultimate luxury and supreme comfort throughout each stay. At 150 sq m, complete with a spacious and well-appointed living and dining area, as well as ultra-luxurious furnishings, the Presidential Suite is ideal for entertaining, relaxation or casual meetings. The public area is separated from the bedroom – with its king-sized bed – by French doors.

The most spectacular feature is the wrap-around balcony with views of the Pacific, Hollywood, Downtown and Beverly Hills. The elegant bathroom features a clean-lined washstand, granite surfaces and separate step-in shower and whirlpool soaking tub. Amenities include a powder room, sofa bed, two flat-screen TVs, a laptop-compatible safe with charging station, Keurig coffee maker and a fully stocked mini bar.

For an extended stay, the 110-sq-m Elite Residence Suite, with its separate living and dining areas, powder room and efficient kitchenette with an island and barstools, is the perfect choice. Separated from the public area by French doors, the bedroom is available with a king bed or two double beds. Wrap around balconies and stunning views encourage indoor-outdoor living – the lifestyle so well loved by Angelenos. The elegant bathroom features a clean-lined washstand, granite surfaces and separate step-in shower and soaking tub. Amenities echo those of the Presidential Suite.

Each guestroom and suite at the hotel features modern furniture shapes rendered in rich wood veneer inspired by local legends like the Eames, Neutra and Schindler. With relaxation in mind, the final touches of every room include a palette of wood surfaces, neutral fabrics and soft goods. Elegant upholstered headboards and crisp white bedding with down duvets add to the hotel chic. Every luxurious bathroom is outfitted with Italian marble and features separate walk-in showers, a soaking tub and fine bathing amenities from Agraria.

MEETINGS & EVENTS

With a total of 1,080 sq m of flexible event space that has been recently updated with the latest and greatest in technology design and layout, the Beverly Hills luxury hotel can accommodate professional gatherings and personal celebrations of any size. Intimate boardrooms are perfect for smaller group meetings, while the recently renovated Grand Salon Ballroom has a capacity of up to 300 people.

The hotel’s indoor Glass Lounge features floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open into an expansive garden courtyard, providing a beautiful option for indoor/outdoor events that allow guests to revel in Southern California’s ideal year-round climate. The Glass Lounge can be configured with plush couches or a boardroom set-up, and the garden features oversized couches and fire pits with exquisite landscaping and colourful, verdant flowers throughout.

NOURISH THE MIND & BODY

Additional hotel features include the signature restaurant, Park Grill, offering a unique menu of California cuisine created with global influences by Executive Chef Jonathan Wood.

The elegant Lobby Lounge delights passersby with a range of small bites and delicious refreshments throughout the day and night. Spa InterContinental delivers relaxing treatments in private villas, and the 24-hour fitness centre is complete with an outdoor heated infinity pool and deck, sauna and steam room. Throughout summer, complimentary sunset yoga classes are held high atop the hotel’s 18th-floor helipad, allowing a unique vantage point for taking in the sprawling city down below and seemingly infinite ocean in the distance.

Furthering efforts to provide absolute luxury experience, InterContinental Los Angeles recently introduced an all-new Tesla Model S to its roster of house cars available to guests for complimentary transportation in and around town. The luxury electric vehicle joins the hotel’s existing Mercedes S Class to chauffeur visitors to nearby shopping, dining and entertainment in Beverly Hills and Century City.

Other hotel services include valet parking, full service business centre, dry cleaning, and packing and unpacking assistance, complimentary shoeshine and more.
