A refurbished, luxurious three-bedroom penthouse at Hyde Park Gardens in London is on offer to discerning investors from the Gulf.
Situated on the fourth floor of the building, with lift access, the residence has the only fifth floor roof terrace in the building. The lateral apartment provides 2,120 sq ft of space and has sweeping views over Hyde Park.
The turnkey property is priced at £7.25 million ($9.47 million) and is being offered by luxury London estate agent Kay & Co.
The penthouse has several features that make it unique amongst other properties at Hyde Park Gardens. When refurbishing the property, the developer was able to buy both the attic space and roof of the apartment, allowing the ceiling height to be raised to over 3 m and the creation of the unique 520-sq-ft roof terrace.
Hyde Park Gardens is known for being the former and current residence of such celebrities as Keira Knightley and Queen Noor of Jordan, whilst the High Commission of Sri Lanka is also in the terrace.
Martin Bikhit, Managing Director of Kay & Co, said: “No expense has been spared in the renovation of this apartment; several internal walls were moved to allow for light to flow through the apartment and so that the incredible views over Hyde Park can be enjoyed from nearly every room. The roof terrace is quite unique; few apartments in Hyde Park Gardens can lay claim to so much outside space and whilst refurbishing the property, the common entrance was also restored to its original Edwardian grandeur.”
The interior design of the apartment has been inspired by Hyde Park. A bespoke chandelier was commissioned and now occupies the main living area; designed to emulate the branches of a tree in blossom. Antique leaf-shaped glass lights were also sourced, whilst a beautiful Julian Chichester dining table (seating six) features in the living area. Throughout, the décor is neutral and calm, with flashes of design-led colour and texture.
Aside from raising the ceiling heights and the creation of the roof terrace, during renovation a balcony running around the northern and western edges of the property was also incorporated, allowing the extension of two guest bedrooms into luxurious guest suites. Throughout the property technology abounds, including a full audiovisual system Mitsubishi air conditioning and Lutron lighting. The highest quality materials have been used, including luxurious raw silk wallpaper in all bedrooms and both Areti and Omani marble in the bathrooms.
On entering the apartment, residents and guests are greeted by an entrance hall, with cleverly hidden storage. Overlooking the Hyde Park estate to the rear are two bedroom suites, one of which features a bathroom hidden behind the middle wardrobe door. Both rooms are exceptionally generously sized and have been finished with rich grey wool carpet and a calming colour scheme.
Overlooking the award-winning gardens of Hyde Park Gardens and with panoramic views over neighbouring Hyde Park, the 26-ft reception room has a stunning fireplace centrepiece, with the fire controlled by a remote control. Above the modern fire sits a large television, whilst a comfortable L-shaped sofa partitions the room. To the rear of the room is the Julian Chichester dining table, which sits in front of antique glass panels.
Electrically operated pocket doors lead to the kitchen. Newly refurbished and made by Hacker, the kitchen features clean white handle-less cabinets, with white marble worktops. All in-built appliances are by Miele, whilst a Quooker instant-hot water tap has also bee installed.
The master suite is privately located at the opposite end of the apartment to both the entertaining areas and the guest suites. A wall of raw-silk covered wardrobes provides ample storage space, whilst a clever partition features both a dressing table and television. The master bathroom, accessed through pocket doors, features both an Aqua-TV and a freestanding bath, from which Hyde Park can be seen.
The penthouse at Hyde Park Gardens is located within a minute’s walk of Hyde Park. The nearest underground station is Lancaster Gate (Zone 1, Central), which is within a ten-minute walk of the property.
