Salon Privé to be held at famous palace

Salon Privé celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2015 at a new home in the magnificent Blenheim Palace grounds, further underlining its position as one of the UK’s most prestigious automotive events.

Building on the achievements of a remarkable decade, which includes establishing its Concours d’Elégance as one of the top three prestigious classic car events in the world, the move from Syon Park to Blenheim Palace delivers a venue perfectly aligned to the allure and reputation of the show, the organisers say.

Conceived by Andrew and David Bagley in 2004, the event has gone from strength to strength showcasing everything from rare bespoke classics through to the latest and rarest prestige and performance cars.

The event has also continued to attract an increasing portfolio of world-renowned luxury and lifestyle brands, incorporating everything from jewellery to executive jets and fine art.

Salon Privé will continue to retain its early September dateline. However, this year and for the first time, the event will run from Thursday the 3rd to Saturday the 5th, a move which is sure to attract considerably more buyers, collectors and enthusiasts than ever before, the organisers add.

The addition of a public day will also feature a Speed & Style supercar competition from 1975 to date, held in the palace grounds, adding “an innovative and exciting new component to the event”.

Alongside longstanding elements of the event including the Chubb Insurance Concours d’Elégance and Boodles Ladies’ Day, there are also some exciting firsts at this year’s event, including the opportunity for visitors to test drive many of the desirable cars present and even more spectacular cavalcades of the cars on show.

“We’ve remained true to our original concept,” explains co-founder David Bagley. “We’ve always focused on working with the very best automotive and luxury brands to build Salon Privé into an event that affords guests a level of interaction that’s impossible to beat.”

PALACE LOCATION

Built in the early 18th century, the world-famous Blenheim Palace, a jewel in the Oxfordshire countryside, was designed by Sir John Vanbrugh. Now residence to the 12th Duke and Duchess of Marlborough, it is also famed as the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill.

Commenting on the relocation, His Grace, the 12th Duke of Marlborough, said: “It is an honour for us to be hosting Salon Privé 2015 – the Luxury Supercar Show & Concours d’Elégance - in its tenth year and for the first time here at Blenheim Palace.

“My wife and son, The Marquis of Blandford, and I are personally looking forward to the event as big motor enthusiasts!  With such an exquisite world leading display of classic and luxury vehicles, the Palace and surrounding Gardens and Parkland will be the perfect backdrop for this unique event.“

As a Unesco and World Heritage site, Blenheim Palace’s reputation precedes it, and it is the perfect host for Salon Privé offering an extended reach beyond just London to other towns and cities such as Oxford, Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester. There is excellent access by road, rail and air and a plethora of luxury local hotels in nearby Woodstock.

The new location will also offer test-drive and demonstration opportunities allowing visitors to be entertained as well as test driving new models. With wide manufacturer and sponsor support, the primary setting of the Salon Privé village is a single, fully integrated lawn, ensuring greater visibility and cross-promotion opportunities, with classic cars, supercars, hypercars, concept cars and luxury brands all sitting alongside each other.

More details will follow in the coming months, including class categorisations for the Concours d’Elégance and Speed & Style competition.

Tickets will go on sale shortly and be available via www. salonpriveconcours.com.
