Ferretti builds record 148 yachts in 2016

Italy’s Ferretti Group said it produced a record 148 yachts in 2016, reinforcing its position as one of the strongest groups in the industry, ending the year 2016 with outstanding results.

By December 31, the number of yachts built under the group's seven brands reached a remarkable 148, up by 25 per cent compared to the 117 yachts built in 2015, in itself a record year with an increase of over 20 per cent from 2014.

The expected turnover for 2016 will be almost €500 million.

Ferretti said these figures confirm the strength of the group's industrial and commercial strategy, which included the launch of some 24 new models over three years, with an investment by the shareholders, the Weichai Group and the Ferrari family, of over €50 million on product research and development.

Meanwhile, the new Global Order Book for 2017 - the definitive ranking list of the 20 top builders of yachts over 24 m just published by ShowBoats International - confirms yet again the growth of the group.

Notably, the group was ranked first for number of projects sold or under construction, with as many as 71 under the brands Ferretti Yachts, Pershing, Riva, Custom Line and CRN, and was ranked second overall with over 2,300 m (7,546 feet) of super and mega yachts under construction.

Alberto Galassi, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ferretti Group, commented: “This is further proof of the effectiveness of our strategy, which is based on exclusivity, innovation and attention to people. This year's Global Order Book provides an accurate reflection of the Ferretti Group's incredible growth. A real growth, as demonstrated by the revenues and the profits we achieved. Ferretti Group has not only risen in the ranking, with over 2,300 m for yachts over 24 m sold and under construction, but we are actually ranked first in the world in terms of number of projects: 71. This is thanks to the investments in and strong commitment to product research and development across all its brands and for all craft sizes. The projects are always completed within schedule and the Group has delivered 148 products of excellence which are market leaders worldwide. All due to the beauty, quality, style, advanced technology solutions featured on of our yachts and to the industrial and financial reliability of the Ferretti Group.”
